HISTORY

SIEF began as an event organiser bringing together top leaders and innovators at our Annual Summits. A decade later, we have built an institution uniquely equipped to help leading entrepreneurs and companies from China and worldwide to transform their dialogues into outcomes.

2008

Lead by Mr Long Yongtu, Secretary-General of the Boao Forum for Asia, over 100 top entrepreneurs and heads of leading state-owned enterprises visited London to engage with their European counterparts. Today, Mr Long remains committed to supporting our mission and we are are privileged to receive his guidance.

2014

Marking the fifth gathering in Europe, we officially adopted the name Sino-European Entrepreneurs Summit (SEES). Now under the SIEF umbrella, SEES currently convenes approximately 400 delegates annually, with equal representation from China and Europe.

SEES continues to go from strength to strength. In addition to bringing together key influencers from business, SEES has also been welcomed and participated by the heads of European nations, including Prime Minister Gordon Brown, President Nicolas Sarkozy and President François Hollande.

2015

The first China-Africa Investment Forum (CAIF) was held in Marrakech, Morocco. African leaders from business and government of the highest-levels welcomed over 150 of their counterparts from China. They presented one another with specific commercial opportunities and discussed practical ways of how they could forge mutually-beneficial partnerships.

CAIF is endorsed by King Mohammed VI of Morocco and organised in collaboration with Mr Moulay Hafid Elalamy.

Australia became the third region chosen by SIEF, based on the its exceptional opportunities for bilateral growth in the areas of agribusiness, healthcare, technology, infrastructure, environment and financial services.

The inaugural Sino-Australasian Entrepreneurs Summit was successfully held in Sydney, co-chaired by the Hon. John Howard and Mr David Murray. It convened a delegation of over 200 senior business and political leaders from China and Australia.
